The Year of Pain - That's It All Done - The Year of Pain Is Over!

The above quote was made by Andy Stanley MD of A&B Engineering (ESD) Ltd just minutes after he completed event 17, The Liverpool Marathon, a gruelling 26 mile test completed by the team on the 9th of October.

But it’s not over, we still have the Santa Dash to complete. When Andy was told of this he came up with another quote which unfortunately cannot be used in this editorial.

The Team did make comment saying “Event No.17 the Liverpool Marathon was a KILLER, all of us who entered did finish, some of us in a worst state than others!!”

Helen Carlson of the Claire House Appeal said “I'd just like to say a HUGE WELL DONE to Andy and his "Year of Pain" Team.  I'd just like to say on behalf of everyone at Claire House how proud we are of the team and we are simply bowled over by their commitment, dedication and stamina!  Claire House is reliant on our support of our local community and businesses, without which our job of raising £200,000 every month would simply be an impossible mountain to climb! Thank you for all your support.  It really is appreciated.”

So far we estimate that our “Year of Pain” sponsorship has raised over £3.5K and we would be delighted to break the £4k band.

The Santa Dash on the 4th December will give us the opportunity to do this. It our last chance to break this barrier and any sponsorship amount donated by you would be greatly appreciated. To anybody who would still like to sponsor please use the link below - it's the last chance!!!

Our hats go off to Team A&B. This has been a fantastic result and every last one of them should be proud of what they have done, not only raising money for Claire House, but also for pushing themselves to the very limit and succeeding. The team is made up of Andy Stanley, John Tinkler, Richie Lofthouse, John O’Brien, Paul Kennils, Mike Richardson, Kevin Burns, Craig Evans, Ian Cooper, James Gaskill and John Woods.
