Introduction:
Blackburn Rovers Youth Soccer Academy is set in the picturesque village of Brockhall. The complex consists of the academy building, indoor astro turf playing facility and a residential block. A&B Engineering carried out the installation of mechanical services to all three facilities.
Mechanical:
The main building consists of changing rooms, medical facilities, gymnasium and swimming pool. Heating to the building is via manifolds serving a distribution of under floor pipework controlled via room thermostats. Domestic services meet the requirements of the shower ranges in each of the changing rooms and ventilation is installed throughout the building.
The indoor sports facility is heated via high level gas fired Ambi-Rad radiant heating tubes, whilst ventilation is achieved via wall mounted input and extract fans. The residential block is a typical domestic type installation, with hot and cold water distribution to all bedroom/bathrooms and heating is achieved via electric panel heaters. Point of use extract fans provide the ventilation to the bathrooms.
