In Harpurhey, where there are very few community facilities for young people, the charity OnSide Northwest Limited and Manchester City Council have worked with young people to develop a new centre that  includes a sports hall with climbing wall, two multi-purpose halls and changing rooms, all made possible with a £5 million myplace award. Catering for a variety of interests, eight to 21 year olds can choose from numerous sports, physical and cultural activities, such as climbing, boxing, fitness, arts, DJing and dance.

OnSide has been set up to build a network of 21st century Youth Centres across the North West that will give young people top quality, safe and affordable places to go in their leisure time.
