Introduction:

The state-of-the-art Rathbone Rehabilitation Centre will care for up to 25 people with long term mental health problems in single en-suite rooms.

Mechanical:

Heating and cooling is achieved throughout the building via an underfloor heating / cooling system. The underfloor system is fed via two new condensing boilers and one external chiller. The system is controlled via a new Trend building management system.

A new hot and cold water services system has been installed, with each of the en suite bathrooms being fitted with anti ligature sanitaryware / taps etc.

Ventilation to the building is achieved via the installation of individual supply and extract fans.

Electrical:

The electrical installation includes for the new main incoming supply to be terminated within a MCCB panel board with sub distribution to local mcb distribution boards for local lighting and power provisions.

All fittings and accessories where designed and installed to be "tamper proof" and "anti ligature proof" to avoid patient interference.

In association with the power and lighting installation provision was included for a comprehensive security package including Nurse Call and Staff Attack systems. A&B also installed a fully addressable fire alarm system and a fully monitored door access control and CCTV network.
