Client:University of Liverpool
Main Contractor:Braithwaites
Architect:Craig Associates

Value:£170,000

Introduction:

The Existing Roy Castle centre has been refurbished, with a series of new laboratories being formed. A&B returned to the site having been the mechanical & electrical services contractor on the original build in 1994

Mechanical:

Heating and cooling is achieved in the laboratories via the introduction of new fan coil units. The new heating and chilled water services pipework connects on to the existing installation, with the boilers/chillers being located within the roof top plant area.

The entire existing controls system has been upgraded to bring the building back into good working order. This involved the replacement of actuators / control wiring / sensors, and the installation of a dedicated control panel to feed the new laboratory on the ground floor area. Ventilation to the new labs is achieved via the installation of a heat recovery ventilation system.
