Introduction:

NSPCC Liverpool is the new two storey headquarters for the United Kingdom. It comprises of office areas, special needs children areas, general circulation and toilet blocks.

Mechanical:

The building is heated by an under floor system to the ground floor and radiators to the first floor. In certain locations Low Surface Temperature Radiators have been installed for the well being of the children. The Heating installation was split into zones via Variable Temperature and Constant Temperature circuits, a number of rooms are air conditioned by Heat Pump D.X Refrigeration units, the condensers being roof mounted.

The DHW system is fed via an electric unvented indirect storage cylinder. The ventilation system contains a number of communal extract systems and a number of extract fans, the main offices on the first floor utilise free cooling via a monodraught wind catcher system. The Ground Floor plant room comprises gas fired wall mounted condensing boilers and houses the BMS control panel. There is also a fully compliant above ground public health drainage system for all the sanitary appliances.

Electrical:  

The electrical works comprised of installing general lighting and power within the two story building, utilising P.I.R and local switching for lighting.

The general power and data network was integrated into the building to provide local socket outlets and a complete voice/IT network to suite specific office space and communal areas.

For the protection of the building a fully addressable fire alarm system was installed with security, door access and CCTV. The forgoing is externally monitored via a dedicated "Redcare Line."

A fully interactive IT/TV network was installed within the building to further benefit meetings and external conferencing carried out at the Headquarters.
