Introduction:

Liverpool Digital Building 2, 16 & 17 was a refurbishment contract in partnership with Mansell. The 1st and 2nd floors of these buildings have been redeveloped into modern office accommodation.

Mechanical:

The existing mechanical ventilation systems upgraded to achieve optimum conditioned working environments. Existing services were removed in their entirety and re-installed ducted supply and extract ventilation from existing upgraded air handling units complete with new DX cooling batteries and condensing units serving open office accommodation. New stand alone comfort cooling ceiling and wall mounted cassette units have been installed in remote comms rooms and secular office/meeting rooms.

The existing toilet facilities were extensively refurbished with new point of use water heaters serving new bespoke sanitary fitments. The existing building management system was extended to allow the full integration of new and existing services.

Electrical:

In conjunction with HFM, A&B Electrical developed the design brief to provide all lighting and power to the refurbished areas. This also included for site wide extension of the sub main infrastructure and the provision of fully metered individual distribution boards to individual office units.

In accordance with current BS and CIBSE guidelines the lighting installation was controlled by incorporating both presence detection and daylight sensing monitors.General power was installed in keeping with the existing skirting trunking containment system to blend with the remainder of the building. Provision was also made to extend the fire alarm and security installation on site to provide adequate cover and protection to the newly formed areas.
